Who can benefit

Anyone with unwanted hair. Waxing is especially great for those not wanting or not suitable for light based hair removal.

What to expect

Depending on the areas to be treated, your therapist will choose the appropriate wax to achieve the most comfortable treatment with the smoothest finish. You may be asked to remove part of your clothing depending on the area being treated, however your modesty will be protected with the use of towels.

Preparation

Please always inform clinic therapists of any medication, medical history or allergies.

The best results will occur where the hair and surrounding skin is healthy and well maintained. We recommend gently exfoliating the area to be waxed at least 24-48 hours prior to your appointment to remove any build up dead skin cells and lift any trapped hairs. This will result in a more thorough wax and lessens the chance of developing ingrown hairs post treatment. Regular use of moisturiser also helps to soften the hair and surrounding skin allowing for a less painful wax. It is not recommended to book your appointment when your skin is more sensitive or irritated (e.g., when sunburnt or has had a lot of recent sun exposure, just before or during womens menstrual cycle, etc.).

Who isn't suitable for treatment

Client's may be unsuitable for treatment, or may need treatment alterations or medical approval, for any of the following:

Roaccutane use in the past 12 months

Cancer

Inflammatory conditions

Illness

Diabetes

Contagious skin disorders

Sunburned or irritated skin

Recent resurfacing treatments in the past 7 days

Please contact the clinic with any queries.

Expected outcomes

The skin post waxing may be red and irritated, this is a normal response to the treatment and should only be temporary. If it becomes uncomfortable you may apply a cold compress to the area to soothe.
